Liminal Regency

Original oil painting on wood panel.

Signed and dated (2016).

Size: 24 × 30 in

In this portrait, “Liminal Regency” reimagines Nile Valley regality through a lens of contemporary beauty and quiet authority. A woman gazes directly outward, centered and fully adorned, occupying the composition with calm certainty and presence.

Drawing from pharaonic iconography through frontal composition, stylised adornment, and echoes of turquoise and gold, the work does not attempt historical reconstruction, but instead imagines a parallel timeline in which Nile Valley aesthetics evolved into a mythic futurism that feels both ancient and unmistakably contemporary.

Painted with luminous oils on wood panel, the surface carries a restrained radiance. The work relies not on spectacle, but on composure, symbolism, and presence.

Original work. One of a kind.
