Joy

A broad smile, a tilted head and a hand resting at the waist give Joy an open, assured presence. Warm highlights move across the skin and copper-coloured folds of the dress, while stacked gold-coloured neck rings draw the eye towards the face. The cool grey-blue ground holds the figure in clear relief.

Original oil painting on aluminium.
